Instituto Trajetórias and Rio Grande do Sul Launch Call for Applications for International Master’s Scholarships

FAPERGS (Research Support Foundation of the State of Rio Grande do Sul), the State Secretariat for Innovation, Science and Technology (SICT), and Instituto Trajetórias launched, on Thursday, February 12, the call for applications for the Global Talents Rio Grande do Sul – Trajetórias Program.

Applications for the Rio Grande do Sul and Instituto Trajetórias call will be open from March 13 to April 8, 2026. All documentation must be submitted online. Preliminary results are expected to be announced by April 29.

The program aims to expand the presence of Brazilian talent in master’s programs at leading universities abroad.

This year, up to 20 candidates from Rio Grande do Sul will be selected. Those approved in the Global Talents Program will receive monthly scholarships of R$ 9,200, a one-time relocation allowance of R$ 55,000, and tuition discounts at partner universities.

Among other criteria, applicants must:

• Have completed their undergraduate degree by the date the call is published

• Have already started the application process or received an offer/admission letter to an in-person master’s program at a leading international university

• Have a direct link to the state of Rio Grande do Sul, proven by proof of residence issued within 90 days prior to the application date

• Submit a motivation letter, a statement explaining how the application aligns with the program’s priority thematic areas, and an activity plan

• Commit to returning in order to apply the knowledge acquired

More scholarships for Brazilian talent

Instituto Trajetórias has already established partnerships with states, municipalities, and Enap to enable more than 540 scholarships over the next five years. It has also secured tuition and fee discounts starting at 15% at 11 internationally recognized universities and schools, including Yale University, Imperial College London, LSE, École Polytechnique (Paris), and Monash University.
