Instituto Trajetórias: We are here to transform the journey of talented Brazilians

Instituto Trajetórias is a nonprofit initiative dedicated to expanding access for talented Brazilians to graduate programs at the world’s leading universities. The launch will take place in September.

Our goal is to ensure that students who represent Brazil’s diversity receive the guidance, financial support, and professional networks they need to succeed in their journeys and contribute to the country’s sustainable development. We believe that international education is a powerful tool to foster transformative leadership and drive national growth.

Despite its academic and professional potential, Brazil sends proportionally far fewer graduate students to the United States than countries such as China (six times fewer) and regional neighbors like Colombia (four times fewer) and Chile (twice fewer). This results in missed opportunities for human capital development and its long-term benefits.

Our model combines philanthropy, government support, and partnerships with international universities, while also offering assistance before the application process and after students return to Brazil, leveraging technology and local networks.

The initiative is the result of a successful partnership between the Lemann Foundation and VélezReyes+, which identified the opportunity to create a scalable, impactful, and sustainable model to expand access for thousands of Brazilians to world-class education abroad and promote positive impact in Brazil.
